This was the 6th annual outdoor music festival on a beautiful 40 acre property along the Pacific Ocean in Metchosin, British Columbia sponsored by drummer/carpenter
Des Carpenter and Shiatsu, reflexology practitioner and cookie maker extraordinaire, Hayley Clarke. Once again the weather co-operated for this fun filled event, which included a pig roast and live music. Many thanks to Des, Hayley and son Charlie for the personal invite to come and perform.

This year featured an evening blues performance by
Stumpy and the Fish.

POST GIG NOTES:
As per usual, I began with a few solo tunes on guitar and then was joined by the veteran musical forces of Bob York (piano), Gary O'Bray (drums) and Kenn Nakamine (bass) for a set dedicated to the blues; originals and covers. My set ended up being from 8PM to 9PM to the usual appreciative Rossini clientele and staff. This was a special entertaining evening because the amazing jazz vocalist Patti V followed with a set, singing a few of her favorite jazz standards, which included the ever popular
Route 66. Also we were entertained by the lovely young vocalist Simone McIntosh and drummer Mario Avila. Both incredibly talented, Simone has been accepted to study Opera Performance in September at the UBC School of Music, while Mario studies jazz and is a sophomore in the Capilano College Music Program. We'll definitely be seeing more of them at Rossini's and elsewhere.

Yes,... another very enjoyable evening for me. Many thanks to the following seasoned jazz musicians for their very welcome acompaniment: Francis Fernandes (piano), Peter Trill (upright bass) and Stephen Berne (drums). They added a nice jazzy feel to my bluesy tunes. And thanks to the Rossini's staff and clientele for their consistent, favorable response to my music.
